Energy Market Reform Bulletin No. 22 - Consultation on recommendations from the Review of Enforcement Regimes under the National Energy Laws Final Report

Publication date: Thursday, 23rd January 2014.

On 13 December 2013, the final report from Allens and NERA Economic Consultants on the Review of Enforcement Regimes under the National Energy Laws was released by the former Standing Council on Energy and Resources. The main objective of the review was to ensure that the regimes continue to protect the interests of consumers and that the integrity of the energy market is maintained.

The final report did not reflect Council policy; however it agreed to respond to the recommendations in the final report by mid-2014, which included a consultation period for stakeholders to put forward their views on the final recommendations proposed by Allens and NERA Economic Consultants.

Released on 23 January 2014, Energy Market Reform Bulletin No. 22 invited stakeholders to provide written submissions on the recommendations in the final report. All stakeholder submissions received in response to this consultation process are available below, excluding where stakeholders clearly indicated that a submission should remain confidential, either in whole or in part.
