Ministerial Council on Energy Standing Committee of Officials Bulletin No. 195 - Gas Appliances (Carbon Monoxide) Safety Strategy

Publication date: Monday, 25th July 2011.

On 3 May 2011 the former Ministerial Council on Energy requested that the Gas Technical Regulators Committee conduct research and produce an independent report exploring options to mitigate the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning. The draft Gas Appliances (Carbon Monoxide) Safety Strategy (the Strategy) produced by the Committee provides a detailed technical discussion and examines the causes of carbon monoxide accumulation to hazardous levels and presents the merits of potential options to mitigate the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning in residences and recreational vehicles.

Released on 25 July 2011, Ministerial Council on Energy Standing Committee of Officials Bulletin No. 195 invited stakeholders to provide submissions on the draft Strategy. All stakeholder submissions received in response to this consultation process are available below, excluding where stakeholders clearly indicated that a submission should remain confidential, either in whole or in part.
